Producer and dobro virtuoso, Jerry Douglas, chose Blakemore to master Molly Tuttle's latest album, Crooked Tree. Douglas and Blakemore share a love of the sound color that can only be achieved by using highest-quality analog tape (not a digital tape emulation), and so this album was mastered using a bounce to 1/2 inch, 2-track stereo, 15 IPS ATR MASTER tape on a completely rebuilt Ampex ATR 100 series machine. Dolby SR noise reduction was also used. This equipment, though 40 years old, has a beautiful sound character when carefully maintained and calibrated.
